Ernie served 4 years in the US Navy (Aug. 1969 - Aug.1973) Stationed in Norfolk Virginia on 2 different ATF's (sea going tugs) Married Linda Jane Gregory in 1971. Moved to Saline, Michigan in May of 1974. Had a son in 1983 and a daughter in 1990. Worked as a journeyman carpenter after discharge from Navy. Went to work at a private company in 1989, that specialized in helping people with traumatic brain injured recover. He taught woodworking in that company to the recovering brain injured till he retired in May 2015.
